Life Is a
Strange Loop

Guitar, breath, bowed strings, voices, and rhythm fold into an expansive electroacoustic world. A record about consciousness, connection, and the feeling of beginning again, partly inspired by the birth of Dash's first child.

The title comes from Douglas Hofstadter's I Am a Strange Loop. In the 32-minute film, Kacie Boblitt (Met Opera, Sleep No More) dances while a generative visual synthesizer, built by Dash, is projected onto her body in real time. The visuals respond to the music, she responds to the visuals, the visuals respond to her.
